Up at a leisurely,
reasonable hour,
out for
coffee with Harriet,
then
over
to
pick up
Rodie and Tony,
and
off,
via
the
Main
Streets
of
old
agrarian Cottonwood
and
mining
Clarkedale
(with
connections
on
South
Broadway
and
the
Parkway),
up
to
Jerome,
exploring
venues
re next year's collaboration,
first focussing on
Spook Hall,
then
scenicking
about
Sliding
Jail
Park
and
the
Visitors
Center --
then
visiting
the
multi-
storied
Gallery
Winery,
and
performance
space
Cellar
433
and
Liberty
Gift
Shop
and
Theatre,
walking uptown
just about
to the
firehouse,
then
strolling
down
Main
Street
and
reconnoitering
over a
Mexican lunch,
where we decide that the Hall's the thing.
Calling up the Chamber of Commerce,
which runs the place,
we
rendezvous back
over past
the Y
and
more
views,
in
another
brief
monsoonal
condition,
to
enter
into this
sanctum hauntotem.
It fits the bill,
and we talk specifics with the representatives,
particularly the assistant,
as the main man must depart relatively quickly
re another situation.
Lingering with curious well-wishers, also active in the arts,
we eventually
make our departure,
downslope,
heading to the local
Auto Zone to deal with the replacement tail light (as per two-day's ago's law-enforcer's admonition), and -- what are the odds? --
the main Spook Hall representative is there, having taking care of whatever else, such that more chats ensue.
Eventually,
return to
Rodie's for
enlightening
art commentary and to local accomodations for a brief respite,
followed
by
a
second
rendezvous
and
another meal at a related south-of-the-border scenario,
where we firm up plans for the presentation:
two pieces, Pictures at Rodie's Exhibition (Op. 230) and Portraits of ___ (Some Multiple of 3) Ladies, Op. 231, with an overall evening's experience title as Fallen Angels.
150th day of summer, high home 96 (99th 80+, 49th beyond 90), here 93 (with .47 of an inch more wet stuff, already 2.6 since the beginning of the month, compared to home's 0), with Jerome at 91 (.13 / .6 -- the rain-shadow luck of the draws' squalls...).
Composition of page 2 re Pictures late.
