March 8 - Greeting Symphony
Megan heads out for her new living situation across town,
with the help of friend Steve,
and soon (after a quick printing of Abducted by Aliens: I-II), in tandem with Harriet,
we are changing domiciles as well, albeit quite temporarilly,
heading to
John Bilotta's for the
Goat Hall Fresh Voices XIV Composer Meeting with Richard Bagwell live and
Yvonne Freckman and Helena Michelson on Skype,
featuring
discussions re
finances and
instrumentations.
Out, the two of us, afterward to Elephant Bar, then a quick dinner,
followed by the evening at Diablo Valley College: first at the Music Building, editing Abducted by Aliens: I-IV and doing piano-vocal for the initial two selctions, subsequently heading over to the Performing Arts Center,
to join the DVC Philharmonic (which is also performing concerti by J.S. Bach [keyboard] and Richard Strauss [horn, with the marvelous Valerie Senavsky])
in the
dress rehearsal,
green-room
downtime
(including more Abducted work),
and performance of the Jean Sibelius Pohjola's Daughter, Op. 49.
Home late, composing page 6 of 371 Chorale Cadences --
high a relatively balmy 69... also begin score-study of Bela Bartok's The Miraculous Mandarin (first three pages)...
